hot melt adhesive

JOMP 1518K Hot melt adhesive JOMP 1518 K hot melt adhesive is a one-component moisture-reactive polyurethane hot melt adhesive (PUR), a solvent-free 100% solid active polyurethane prepolymers, which becomes a fluid when heated and melted. It is easy to use; after bonding two substrates, the adhesive reacts with the moisture in the air and on the surface of the substrates, forming an inert structure through cross-linking, resulting in a highly cohesive polymer with improved bonding strength, high-temperature resistance, and low-temperature performance. Due to its extremely high reactivity, it has a very wide range of applications. JOMP 1518 K products are mainly designed for bonding glass, ABS plastic, PC, aluminum sheets, etc., and exhibit excellent adhesion to printed glass. They are primarily used for bonding glass panels in refrigerator doors, washing machine doors, microwave oven doors, water dispensers, range hoods, water heaters, lamps, etc. With high production efficiency, low overall cost, and the ability to achieve automated assembly processes, they are the best alternative to double-sided tape.

Transportation and storage:

The product should be transported and unloaded to avoid collision and heavy pressure, so as to prevent the packaging from being deformed or damaged and unusable.

Unopened original packaging should be stored in a cool, dry place at room temperature for 6 months, avoiding humid environment.

Solidify optimal conditions:

The environmental temperature is between 22 °C and 28 °C, with a relative humidity of 50-80%. We recommend that the finished door panels or panels be assembled on-site for at least 6-24 hours. If testing the final performance of the product, we suggest that the bonded products be tested after 10-15 days, depending on the moisture content of the substrate, the breathability of the substrate, and the environmental temperature and humidity.

Gelatin content:

The range is about 10-100 g / m2, depending on the substrate and application. The general adhesive amount for refrigerator door panels is 12-20g/m.

The process of the refrigerator:

After the glass and ABS are bonded well, it usually takes 5-10 minutes to enter the foaming line. The glass is facing down, and the pressure is well maintained during foaming. The foaming time is generally about 10 minutes. After foaming, it is usually placed for 4 hours to stabilize the foam for a period of time, and then enter the assembly.

If possible, it is better to assemble the door panels after eight hours of good work.

Other glass control panel process:

After the glass and ABS are well bonded, they generally enter the holding device within 1-2 minutes. It is usually recommended to enter the holding device as soon as possible after bonding. The holding period is generally around 10-60 seconds. If the substrate has deformation or warping, the holding time should be extended accordingly. After holding, the product is typically left for more than 2 hours before moving on to the assembly process. Some products have assembly processes hat do not cause stress to the bonded product and can proceed directly to the assembly production line.

Note: Different products have different bonding performance, assembly time and process. It is recommended to first test the performance of the product and verify the matching of the process.

direction for use:

1. Coating JOMP 1518 K is suitable for standard coating systems of single-component moisture-curing polyurethane hot melt adhesives (PUR). We recommend a standard operating temperature of 120°C-150 °C. Different coating methods require appropriate adjustments to the usage temperature.

2. Melting stability High temperatures (> 110 °C) should be avoided during long periods of downtime. The viscosity will increase at high temperatures for several hours.

We recommend: If the downtime exceeds 40 minutes, it is best to lower the temperature of the heating system of the melting equipment to 50-60°C for insulation, and adjust the temperature to the normal operating temperature during normal production. If it exceeds 1 hour, we suggest shutting down the heating system, and when using it, turn on the power heater 10 minutes in advance.

3. It is best to install a ventilation hood in the mechanical adhesive part, which can discharge the trace smoke (isocyanate) produced by the heating of PUR hot melt adhesive to the outside of the room, so as to prevent workers from having adverse reactions when operating for a long time, such as coughing and tearing eyes. People who are allergic to isocyanate should stay away from this environment.
